Glenn Rhodes’s long list of credits reflects the breadth of his talent. His international touring work includes roles such as Musical Director for Thelma Houston, as well as touring with artists including Dionne Warwick, America and Albert Lee. I first met Glenn when he was touring the Duff & Rhodes show with Jeff Duff.
After shows we would often head into Round Midnight in Sydney’s Kings Cross to watch Glenn perform. It was always remarkable to see him play piano with one hand and bass with the other, while adding string parts on a synth over the piano and delivering excellent vocals at the same time.
Glenn Rhodes and I became friends, although not long after I moved to Hong Kong on a three year contract. During that time I still managed to have him contribute to a few songs, but eventually we lost touch. Around ten years ago we reconnected and have been very good friends ever since. Glenn has since added some outstanding piano and keyboard parts to several of my songs.
Songs such as Sweetest Agony feature some beautiful sparse piano work from Glenn, while Best Of Me was arranged by him and includes both piano and organ parts. I am very grateful for the contributions he has made to my songs over the years.
