Andre Javes was the lead singer of Crimes Of Passion and part of the songwriting partnership with me, co-writing many of the songs that appear on the Crimes Of Passion album. After he moved into my apartment with his girlfriend Naomi, we spent many late nights over pizza and wine trying to write our “next big hit”, which of course never quite arrived.

Andre Javes’s voice was, and still is, the ‘sound’ of Crimes Of Passion, and I miss hearing that voice on the songs I have re-recorded over the last decade or so. Andre eventually moved on to bigger things in the corporate world and has been very successful.

I still believe the best songs we wrote were the ones we wrote together. For me it was a real revelation to have someone to bounce ideas off, especially someone who could truly sing. I remain very grateful for the time we spent together crafting those songs.
